Testing

ISA Testing

The South Australian Ice Skating Association conducts tests on behalf of Ice Skating Australia. ISA Figure skating tests begin at the Preliminary level and end with the Senior level tests. In order to compete at a certain level, skaters must pass all tests that is at the level at which the skater wishes to compete. For example, in order to compete in Basic Novice , skaters must pass the Basic Novice Pattern and Program tests.

Applications for Tests should reach SAISA 3 weeks before the Test (this includes the test fee). Late entries may miss out! Skaters wanting to compete in a new level in competition need to complete their needed Tests by the closing date of the competition.

More information on tests dates, test applications and technical requirements can be found the SAISA’s website here.

More information on tests from Ice Skating Australia, including test papers and diagrams, can be found on the ISA website here.

Aussie Skate Testing

Aussie Skate testing is run by the Aussie Skate program coordinator at your local rink’s skate school. It is up to each skate school to determine how and when tests are conducted.

Coaches decide when skaters are ready to test to a new level when the skater can demonstrate competency of the required elements for that level. Skaters are allowed to undertake more than one test at a testing session, depending on test scheduling and time available. Badges are available for skaters who pass a test.

For more information on Aussie Skate testing at your rink, please speak to your skate school director or coaches.
